I suppose it would be in ill form if I didn't update with knitting today, especially since my two squirrels are sleeping. One is sick and the other one is so very tired of being inside on a summer day, and so I am playing on Ravelry and sucking in the alone time I am getting this afternoon.
The heel approacheth.
So. I'm going to try a short-row heel. Those who know...do you like it? This is only my second pair of socks and it makes me nervous that you don't need a gusset with the short-row heel. I guess I don't understand it, so I'll just blindly follow instructions and hopeth that it worketh.
I have been re-reading Pride and Prejudice. So sue me.

Thou knitting looketh lovely.
You knittith quite beautifully. Those socks are lovely! I've never done a short heel - so I wish you the best luck although I wish I could offer you some advice! I know your pal is going to love them!!! What pattern are you using?
PS. I love Pride and Prejudice the book and the movie - mainly the BBC version with Colin Firth!!!
Isn't it funny how you want to talk like the book you're reading? I've been in a rut with actual reading lately, but perhaps you've inspired me to try some Jane Austen. I've read some but not all.
I love P&P. Will reread and rewatch the movies again and again!
The socks are looking great. I have only made socks so far with the flap and gusset so I'm interested in what you think of knitting the short-row. I know several folks that really like it.
Now I want to sit in front of my TV and watch Colin Firth be all dark and broody. I love the way those socks are knitting up.
