50th

This is my 50th post! *blush* I know, I'm such a newbie. Anyway, I felt it appropriate to lay down the knitting projects I'd like to complete this year*, that way I can look back on them in December and laugh my ass off. These are not in any particular order.

1. Complete the Toddler Jumper.

2. Three top-down sweaters for kids (two for my nephews and one for my son) from navy blue and gray Rowan All Seasons Cotton in the stash. (These are for Christmas, and if I complete them in time, I'd like to do one for one of my niece's too.)

3. More socks. Generic, but good. I think I can plan to have a pair of socks going pretty much all the time. I'd like to give a pair to my mother with her Christmas present. Maybe for my sisters' birthdays in the fall, too. (I haven't told my family that this blog exists, so they don't read it! I can write whatever I want regarding presents.)

4. Complete the Log Cabin blanket.

5. Figure out if the adult Tomten (aka egg jacket) is salvageable and either fix or rip.

6. Complete one Lisa Lloyd design for myself, probably this one.

7. Determine if making the Trellis jacket (right) is a good idea. I've loved it for years, always planned to make it, but is it too boxy to be flattering on a suburban mom? Your honest opinions are quite welcome! I've got Beaverslide (light heathered gray) that I think will work.

8. Sketch out and plan a top-down cardigan for myself with my first-ever colorwork. One color, but still.

9. Complete my Central Park Hoodie. It's hanging out with a back and one front complete. Oh the shame of it. I really need to finish this one--I think I'll wear it a lot.

*Ok, after writing this, I felt it important to add that I know there is no way I can get all of this done in six months, but it's nice to have a list of the projects always bouncing around in my head.

Congratulations on your bloggy milestone! We all have to start somewhere, right? :)

I think it's really smart to make a list of projects you're working on and/or considering. It can be overwhelming to see all the goodness out there and want to do it all, especially when we have little ones to tend to and less time than we might've once had.

As for the Trellis jacket, I'm too new a reader to make much of a judgement. I think it all depends on your body type and which silouettes you usually gravitate to and feel comfortable and stylish in, both in handknits and off-the-rack. For me, that would be way too boxy and oversized, but that's because my shape is curvy and I *have to* have waist shaping and a more fitted silouette to avoid the potato sack look. But I think it would look great on other shapes. I'm sending you an email with some ideas on determining shape for your bod...

I think the trellis jacket is adorable- where is the pattern from? I like it because it looks sort of farm-y. But I guess that was just the photo styling!

I threw shot and disc in jr. high, too!

P.S. The Trellis Work Jacket is in the Fall 2001 issue of Interweave Knits!

Congrats on your 50th! I do like the trellis jacket. I would totally knit one, in fact where did you get the pattern?

Good list; sure, totally doable (ha!). I really like the trellis jacket, I think if you were concerned about the boxiness, you could shorten it and throw ins some waist shaping. Mmm, Beaverslide.

Congrats on the 50th post!!! We should slebrate all bloggy milestones I think :-)

You have a great list going there. I am having the summer of baby knits for all my friends having babies this coming year. As long as it isn't me I am good :-D 9besides they are small and knit quick, LOL)

Congratulations on the 50th post! I like the Trellis Jacket but whether it might look good/flattering vs being comfortable---I don't know. It looks comfy but pretty just based on the photo. *g*

The jacket should look nice if it isn't too large-the patterning is really interesting.
